Sustainability

Self-sufficiency, and the gap that remains.

Saudi Arabia has reached advanced self-sufficiency in a range of food categories. The General Authority for Statistics’ Food Security Statistics 2024 records dairy at 131%, dates at 121%, and table eggs at 103%.

The picture is different in the proteins that prepared meals are built from. The same publication records poultry meat at 72%, red meat at 62%, and fish at 52%. This is the gap local ready-meal manufacturing capability addresses.

National alignment

Alignment with Vision 2030.

SAMT Global is founded with a clear commitment to contribute to Vision 2030’s food security and wellbeing initiatives. Our approach translates national ambition into operational reality through:

  • Local food manufacturing capability development
  • Food waste and cost reduction at institutional and national scale
  • Diversification and strengthening of domestic supply chains
  • Provision of scientifically validated supplements and wellness products

Where this matters beyond cost

8–10%
of global greenhouse gas emissions

Nearly five times the total emissions of the aviation sector.

UNFCCC / IPCC · 2024
1 billion
people who could be fed by food lost to inadequate cold chain
UNEP · 2024

Ambient food systems address both directly. Removing refrigeration from transport and storage removes its energy demand. Extending shelf life reduces the spoilage that drives those emissions in the first place. These are properties of the technology, not projections.
